Young At Art Children’s Creative Center is an award-winning art program that relocated to McKinney, Texas, after ten successful years in San Diego. The studio provides a creative oasis for children in a unique and comfortable home environment, complete with a backyard garden and a ceramics area for pottery, sculpting, and kiln firing. The center is committed to providing a nurturing and positive atmosphere where children can express themselves freely and engage in the arts. The curriculum is well-rounded, covering drawing, painting, pottery, sculpture, and crafts, ensuring students receive close instruction from talented and experienced artists.
Founded in 2009 by professional artist and muralist Kim Howell, Young At Art is dedicated to inspiring and encouraging young artists. The studio’s core goals are to inspire a child’s creativity, encourage self-worth and confidence through art, and provide opportunities and validation through scholarships and community projects. The program prides itself on an unbeatable teacher-to-student ratio, fostering a supportive environment for artistic growth.
A key part of the center’s mission is its scholarship program, which gives underprivileged children the chance to experience the benefits of artistic expression. Young At Art is also deeply involved in the community, having held numerous free events like neighborhood beautification projects and school murals. The studio also hosts creative art parties for birthdays and special occasions, offering a unique group or family art experience.
